Project Manager

Project Manager

Job Description

We are looking for project managers who are able to take under their responsibility an integrated work team (office and/or site) composed of members of the Client team as well as members of the LNA team to form the PROJECT team. The projects are of industrial or heavy industrial type. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills and relevant experience in industrial construction projects. The candidate must be experienced and able to work with tight deadlines, quality requirements and work efficiently

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Establish document control procedures for the classification and filing of documents, including implementing a system for quick and easy retrieval of multiple documents;
  • Ensures that Health, Safety and Environment rules are respected on the construction site;
  • Coordinates the work of the different members of the project team;
  • Clearly communicate project objectives and deliverables;
  • Review the planning of project milestones and ensure that team members' objectives are well aligned with those of the Project;
  • Ensures the application of the project manager's health and safety program;
  • Coordinates with the Construction Manager the construction activities at the site with the assistance of the site supervisors;
  • Ensures effective collaboration with the owner's team;
  • Ensures that internal project procedures and systems are followed and enforced by supervisors, contract administrators and other employees;
  • Follows up on the quality assurance program for the work and compliance with plans and specifications;
  • Assists the various members of his team in the realization of project deliverables;
  • Prepares and issues the required daily, weekly, monthly reports;
  • Tightly monitors project budgets and schedules and documents variations;
  • Gets involved in the management deliverables and takes care of several of them.

PROFILE / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate engineer and preferably a member of the OIQ;
  • 10 years of experience in construction projects;
  • Having participated in the execution of a major project;
  • Bilingual (French and English);
  • Good written and oral communication skills;
  • Results-oriented and excellent organizational skills;
  • Have personal initiative and be able to work unsupervised in a team environment;
  • Knowledge of business software is an asset but computer skills are essential.

Working conditions

  • The project office is located in the Montreal area;
  • Very competitive salary;
  • 37.5 hours of work per week at a minimum is expected. Working from home;

Project Planner



Project Planner

We are looking for project planners who are able to work in an integrated work team (office and/or site) composed of members of the Client team as well as members of the LNA team to form the PROJECT team. The projects are of industrial or heavy industrial type. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills and relevant experience in industrial construction projects. The candidate must be experienced and able to work with tight deadlines, quality requirements and work efficiently.

Roles and Responsibilities

The planner is responsible for preparing, integrating and controlling all the schedules of the various stakeholders during the different phases of the project. More specifically, the planner is responsible for:

  • Develops a reference schedule (base line);
  • Responsible for the preparation and approval of the master project schedule in collaboration with the project team, taking into account the objectives and important constraints;
  • Responsible for the preparation of the detailed project schedule in order to determine the specific time objectives for each phase of activity;
  • Follows up and monitors the project schedule to ensure that the objectives are met and that progress is representative;
  • Responsible for collecting and entering relevant information to update the schedule;
  • Develops with the Director and/or Lead Project Controller the schedule for carrying out the work related to the activities;
  • Integrates the contractors' schedules and ensures compatibility with the master schedule;
  • Prepares and periodically updates the detailed schedules according to the progress of the work;
  • Identifies deviations and notifies the Director and/or the Lead Project Controller on an ongoing basis;
  • Identifies conflicts and/or potential problems when updating the schedule (contractual delays, equipment delivery delays, receipt of permits, etc.);
  • Produces and regularly updates the monitoring of the labor curve in order to plan the work to be executed and allow the various necessary analyses during the execution;
  • Prepares clear and structured presentations showing the progress of the schedule, the stakes and possible constraints;
  • Proposes alternative work programs that allow for time recovery. Review constructability.

Profile / Qualifications / Experience

  • Graduate engineer and preferably a member of the OIQ;
  • 10 years of experience in construction and/or management of projects;
  • Having participated in the execution of a major project;
  • Bilingual (French and English);
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Results-oriented and excellent organizational skills;
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with little, to no supervision in a team environment;
  • Knowledge of business software is an asset and computer skills are essential;
  • Mastery of Microsoft Project and very good knowledge of Primavera P6 software.

SENIOR ESTIMATOR

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SENIOR PROJECT ESTIMATOR TO PREPARE ACCURATE ESTIMATES FOR INDUSTRIAL PROJECTS BY GATHERING INFORMATION AND ANALYZING IMPORTANT METRICS. YOU WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE AND JUSTIFICATIONS OF COSTS THAT WILL SUPPORT IMPORTANT CLIENT DECISION.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE EXCELLENT ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS AND AN ANALYTICAL MINDSET. YOU MUST ALSO BE THOROUGH AND APT TO INTERACT WITH KEY PERSONS WITHIN THE LNA TEAM AND THE CLIENT TEAM. THE CANDIDATE MUST BE RESOURCEFUL AND CAPABLE OF WORKING WITH DEADLINES.

  • UNDERSTAND THE SCOPE OF WORK OF A PROJECT AND RELATED DELIVERABLES;
  • UNDERSTAND THE STRUCTURE AND FORMAT OF AN ESTIMATE;

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 10-15 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN AN ESTIMATOR ROLE, IDEALLY ON MULTIDISCIPLINARY PROJECTS AND THROUGH DIFFERENT ESTIMATING CLASSES;
  • DETAILED MECHANICAL & PIPING ESTIMATING CAPABILITIES – INDUSTRIAL PLANTS
  • HAVE EXPERIENCE ON CONSTRUCTION SITES;
  • STRONG MS OFFICE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS, SPECIFICALLY WITH MS EXCEL;
  • KNOWLEDGE OF ESTIMATING TECHNIQUES;
  • STRONG ANALYTICAL SKILLS AND AUTONOMOUS
  • CAPABLE OF WORKING IN A TEAM ENVIRONMEN

PREVENTION OFFICER AND SST ADVISOR

L. Nardella Associates Ltd. needs to develop its team of prevention agents and OHS consultants for its various current and future projects. In the context of the pandemic, preventive confinements make the continuity of services more fragile and we need to be able to offer stability to our clients.

We are looking for prevention officers and OHS advisors for our projects located within a 3-hour radius of Montreal who are able to take responsibility for health and safety management in close collaboration with the site management team.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Depending on the size of the project, candidates may be called upon to take charge of the various aspects of health and safety management:

  • Carry out daily site inspections to ensure everyone's safety and health;
  • Enforce site specific safety procedures and measures;
  • Ensures that hygiene measures are followed.
  • Investigate and report all accidents and serious incidents to the OHS Director;
  • Stop work if the situation requires it;
  • Require immediate correction of deviations identified during a site visit;
  • Issue and follow up on notices of non-compliance;
  • Participate in and facilitate various OHS-related meetings;
  • Act as a safety advisor to site managers;
  • Verify the application of the prevention program in force and make a report with recommendations to the site manager and the site committee;
  • Distribute and comment on the work accident report;
  • Cooperate with the various training organizations on the site and within the company;
  • Record all information regarding events including accidents, fires and occupational diseases;
  • Immediately notifies the emergency services in the event of an accident or emergency;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with outside safety groups to ensure that leading-edge safety techniques are maintained on the job site;
  • Conduct periodic inspections in all areas of the work site and ensure that corrective measures from the last inspection are completed;
  • Intervenes when there is a risk of accident and investigates following an accident;
  • Maintain a record of accidents.

PROFILE / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to communicate effectively, explain and explain health and safety instructions in layman's terms;
  • Express yourself clearly in French, both written and spoken;
  • Functional English will be an asset, both written and spoken;
  • 5 years of experience as an OHS field resource on construction sites (Large scale Industrial and/or Civil sector an asset);
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, standards and regulations as well as best prevention practices;
  • Hold training in occupational health and safety;
  • Respectful approach;
  • Ability to show initiative, judgment and act in a proactive manner.
